This is an unbelievably in-depth crime scene investigation course. This goes well beyond fingerprints and foot impressions. We start with a refresher of basic processing and then smash forward into death scenes, processing bloody fingerprints, more advanced photography, and search warrants.
We cover numerous aspects of major crime scene investigations including using digital and social media to identify suspects. Determine how to properly document and collect evidence at a death scene. Students will learn critical thinking skills to solve the puzzle. Learn how to determine the Mode of Death, Cause of Death and Manner of Death. Dusting for fingerprints is the building block of crime scene processing. This class provides students the opportunity to understand the basics of fingerprint identification. Students will process dozens of items using powders, chemicals, fuming chambers and other other proven techniques. Proper documentation and photography will be practiced throughout the course.
